Prayer – Confession of Faith and Identity
Speak this boldly and out loud for best effect
Heavenly Father, You ARE love (1 John 4). I thank you for loving me! I appreciate that you love me and value me so much that you sent your son here for me. (John 3:16)
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the work you did for us and for your sacrifice for me. You came here in human form as a son of man, You showed us how to resist temptation, how to worship only God, how to live by His word, how to be compassionate, and how to love others more than ourselves. You showed us the power of the holy spirit through signs and wonders, and you promise the same for those who believe in you. You taught many and healed multitudes, and you commission each of us to continue your work. You allowed your innocent body to be destroyed and hung on a cross to fulfill the prophesy. You resisted the devil at every step and even offered forgiveness to the people who tortured and abandoned you saying “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34). You shed your innocent blood for me and all of mankind, the perfect lamb, the permanent sacrifice, once and for all. Your resurrection on the third day overcame the ultimate force of evil and you now hold the keys to the kingdom in heaven and on earth.
The wage of sin is death; I am a sinner and I should die. You paid that price, and through your mercy, I dont have to. When I accept you as my lord and savior: you forgive my sins, you take my guilt, you make me innocent, and you give me eternal life. I thank you for this wonderful gracious gift.
Heavenly father, there is no longer war between us. What we lost through Adam, we regained through Jesus. Sin has been destroyed and defeated, you cursed sin in the flesh when it was put on your son on the tree, and you set me free. The separation created by Adam is gone; I am reconciled with you and you have made me a son. I humbly present myself as righteous before you; Justified entirely through Faith in Jesus (Romans 5:1). He has made me Holy, Blameless, and above reproach in Your sight (Colossians 1:22). Guilt, Shame, and Condemnation have no place in my life.
Thank you for allowing me to be born again; The old me is dead, the new me is a fresh start. Thank you for putting your Holy Spirit inside me to guide me on this journey. I think you for continuing to illuminate my understanding and for transforming my life. Thank you for continuing to show me opportunities to improve, bringing things to my attention, and helping me find more ways to flow your love through my life. Thank you for never changing your mind about me. No matter how lost I was, you never let go of my potential, or lost sight of my purpose.
Lord: I want to lay hold of that which you laid hold of me for (Philippians 3:12-14). I am proud to be your son. I will continue in faith and stay grounded and steadfast. I will rejoice and maintain the Hope of the Glory of God described in the gospel. (Romans 5:1)
God, I love you so much – no one has ever loved me like this. I am proud to call you father, and I am proud to be your son. I WILL be a shining beacon for your kingdom with your love flowing through me every minute of every day. AMEN
