God and His Kingdom: An Introduction

Fundamental principles and supporting scriptures 

  • See and read the scriptures to build awareness and knowledge in your mind. 
  • Listen to lectures, study them and discuss the principles with others to build understanding in you mind.
  • Reflect, meditate, and pray to discern truth in your mind, and build belief in your heart.
  • Chose to act in faith both by confessing truths with your mouth, and behaving according to your beliefs

 Who is God

    • God is the source of EVERYTHING
      • “I am the Alpha and the Omega,the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelations 1:8)
    • God is the essential essence of everything – He is “I AM”
    • His name is “The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob” (Exodus 3:15)
    • He is omnipotent (all powerful)
      • “Great is our Lord, and abundant in strength…” (Psalm 147:5)
    • He is omniscient (all knowing)
      • “Great is our Lord,… His understanding is infinite.” (Psalm 147:5)
      • “O Lord, You have searched me and known me.” (Psalm 139:1)
    • He is omnipresent (ever present)
      • “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Watching the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3)

    • “He is Love” (1 John 4:8)
    • He is “the Truth” (John 14:6)
    • His Divine Love Is the power (and spiritual substance) that created the heavens and the earth and everything in them (ES Genesis)
    • His Divine Truth is the Master Craftsman (structure and form) that brings order out of chaos (Genesis)(Proverbs 8:30)

What has He already done / What will He do for you

  • He fills several roles
    • Creator – He Created the heavens and the earth and everything in them (Genesis)(Romans1:20)(Ephesians 3:9)
    • Father – He formed me in the womb – (Psalm 139:16) – giver of all good and perfect gifts (James 1:17)
    • Provider – of all our needs (Gen 22:13) (Phil 4:19)(Mat 6:31-33)
    • Protector – keeps evil at bay (Psalm 97:10),
    • Shepherd – guides us continuously toward our best interest, “You shall not want” (Psalm 23:1)
    • Shelter – my rock, my shield, my fortress (Psalm 18:1) , my refuge(Psalm 91)
    • Redeemer – Rescue us from our troubles (Psalm 18:1)
    • Savior – Forgive our sins (Psalm 79:9)
    • Healer – physically, mentally, spiritually (Exodus 15:26)
  • Review these roles, understand them, review how he has filled that role in your life, acknowledge that contribution, praise him for his work

What is “The Word”

  • The Bible is the divine inspired word of God
    • “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • The Word is the essence / nature / personality of God in words
    • “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1)
  • The Word is Truth
    • The entirety of Your word is truth” (Psalm 119:160)
    • “…you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
  • The Word is written in parables and allegory which hold deeper meaning.
    • it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven…  (Matthew 13:13)
  • It is designed so that you have to actively seek to understand the meaning
    • “Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” (Psalm 119:18)
  • The Word comes alive as you read it and dwell in it. Embrace it, and let it work inside you

What can the Word do for you

  • The Word is intended to help you understand God, His will, and His intentions for you; so you can make good choices in this life and set yourself up for the next one.
    • Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)
    • “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15)
    • “…put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls” (James 1:21)
  • The Word is a powerful pathway for God to work in your life, once you open your mind to it, he will make it alive inside you
    • “The words that I speak to you are Spirit and they are Life” (John 6:63)
    • “…my Words are Life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:22)
    • “And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.”(1 Thessalonians 2:13) 

Who is Jesus

  • He is “the Christ; the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16)
  • He is “the Son of Man”, the divinely born human son of a virgin mother (Isaiah 7:14) (Matthew 1:23)
  • He is Emmanuel – “God with us” (Matthew 1:23)
  • He is ”the only begotten of the Father“ (John 1:14) (John 3:16)
  • He is “the Word (who) became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14)
  • He is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15)
  • He is our Lord and Savior (Luke 2:11)
  • He is the human relatable face of God
    • “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6)
  • He is the articulate expression of the thought of God – Jesse Deplantis

What did/does Jesus do?

  • He was born on this earth to “testify to the truth” (John 18:37)
  • He fulfilled 44 specific prophesies about the savior from the old testament
  • He lived a model physical life
    • He studied scripture as a teen, devoting himself to “His Fathers business”– (Luke 2:49)
    • His life modeled the path of righteousness – exposed to temptation, but wise, and sinless
    • He taught others based on what he heard and learned from The Father in prayer (John 8:26)
  • He built a strong spiritual life
    • He received the Holy Spirit after baptism in water
    • He fasted and prayed extensively
    • He learned obedience by working through things he suffered (Hebrews 5:8)
  • He received the Holy Spirit and Power through John’s baptism in Water
    • He built spiritual strength by resisting the devil in the wilderness
    • He did miracles, signs and wonders to demonstrate the Kingdom
  • He served as the sacrifice for our sins
    • He was tortured and died for us on the cross, resisting temptation to the very end 
    • He was perfected in His spirit, overcame physical flesh and he was resurrected in the flesh (Hebrews 5:9)
  • His resurrection closed the chapter of death from sin so we can have everlasting life
    • What we lost through Adam we regained through Jesus
  • He is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6)
    • He is the way, you cannot get lost
    • He is the truth. You cannot be deceived
    • He is the life, the devil cannot kill you  (Jesse Duplantis)
  • He descended to the depths of the earth for 3 days, fought the devil and won
  • He ascended to heaven and has rejoined with the father in Glorified form
  • All power in Heaven and on earth has been granted to him
    • His name is above all other names
  • He delegated authority on earth to us  – Therefor now go… 
    • As the father sent me, I send you
  • He released the Holy Spirit to dwell in all believers so they have a direct connection to Him
    • All the works i do, you will do also
    • Ask in my name and it shall be delivered
    • Believe and you will receive

What is the Holy Spirit?

    • It is the 3rd Aspect of the one and only God – Mind, Body, Spirit
    • The Holy spirit lives in those who believe. “He is with us, and we are with him.”
    • It is a direct and continuous connection with God
    • It is a Helper / Doer / Teacher / Comforter
    • It provides insights for your brain – makes the word come alive, reveals intentions, wisdom
    • It signals you through emotions – peace and calm when on the right path, pangs when not

What is the God-Head / Trinity

    • There is one God – he has three facets – just as we do – mind, body, spirit
      • the Heart/Soul/Mind (the Father),
      • the Face/Body (Jesus)
      • the Voice/Holy Spirit
    • The Father is the source of all: Pure Love, the substance we are made of, we are part of Him.
    • The Son is the human relatable face – “The way, the truth, the light”
    • “…there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” (1 Corinthians 8:6)
    • Jesus told us “If you have met me, you have met the father”, “I am in him, He is in me”
    • Jesus is our interface – He is the only way to the Father – His name carries all of the power
